MSC Seashore Review: MSC is actually good! Yes, really!

I recently took my first MSC cruise aboard the MSC Seashore from August 4 to 11, 2024.  We made a two-day stop at MSC's Ocean Cay Marine Reserve in the Bahamas, as well as one-day stops in Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico.  I had a great time, and given some of the negativity surrounding MSC, I felt compelled to share some of my thoughts and to ease any concerns you might have. If you are new to cruising and have done some preliminary research, you have probably seen that MSC has a mixed reputation online, at least among North American cruisers.  When I first became interested in cruising, I had never heard of MSC (they are still relatively new to the North American market), and I went on to read many negative reviews online which led to me to avoid them at first.  As I became more knowledgeable about the cruising industry, I started to reconsider some of my initial reservations about this brand.  Furthermore, as the prices (and single supplements) on rival brands...

The NeoNyx Scandal is a Cautionary Tale for Travelers Considering Upstart Niche Cruise Lines

Intro to Cruising: What's Included and What's Not?

Welcome to my travel blog!  I am a travel agent from Ontario, Canada and I decided to start this blog to share my knowledge and unique perspective of the travel industry with you.  My primary interest and area of expertise at this time is cruising, so you can expect to see many articles about cruise vacations in the early days of this blog. Over the next few weeks, I am going to share many articles that serve as an introduction to ocean cruising for those who have never cruised before.  Over the past year, I have learned a lot about the cruising industry through industry training and personal experience, and I am going to share the most important information that I think all new cruisers should know.  Cruising is a vacation style that many people are not familiar with, especially my fellow Canadian travelers, and there are some differences between cruising and other resort-style vacations that you might be more familiar with.  If you’re reading this then you pro...
